Jacob deGrom, masterful again. Scherzer was also awesome. The two best pitchers in the NL faced off and both put up great lines despite neither of them having good control of their secondary pitches. That's what aces do, they succeed even when they're not on their A game. I love watching these guys square off.
Robbie Cano's presence is going to help Amed Rosario's development. Rosario looks very calm and comfortable in the field, good to see. If he continues on the progress he made in the 2nd half last year, he should have a nice career.
Juan Soto can rake. Worthy of the hype.
I never really saw Edwin Diaz before and didn't catch any of him in spring training (and he was dreadful), but holy shit is he NASTY. Deceptive delivery, and could possibly be the easiest 97 I've ever seen. A lanky guy, all arms and legs and the ball just flies out of his hand.
Trea Turner is awesome.

Not a good outing by Sale. Sox are on pace to go 0-162!

Not a good outing by Sale. Sox are on pace to go 0-162! I remember last year when the Sox bullpen shit the bed on Opening Day and the entire fanbase imploded. I'm sure the same thing is happening again.

I'm sure the same thing is happening again. I think everyone has handled it well. In Red Sox nation you have a grace period of at least two games after winning the WS the previous year before people start to freak out.

White Sox were pretty disappointing. 5-3 with all 3 runs coming in the 9th.

One down, 161 to go Lots of HR's And my Shehadi is back on MLB Network in the AM! I get to drool over those getaway sticks from now until October. Lauren Shehadi is cuter than a bug and loves baseball. If I wasn't married... I'd be single

The Marlins suck. They have no offense whatsoever, this is the most anemic offensive team MLB has seen in ages. We do have some promising young pitchers though, Trevor Richards had a good outing tonight with 1 run in 6 innings before the weak bullpen shit the bed. I like how we have 4 very young pitchers that show some promise in Richards, Alcantara, Smith and Lopez, but overall this will be a miserable year once again for the Fishies.

Padres are going 16 straight innings to start the season without giving up a run.
