Okay, now they have my attention. I only saw it the one time in the theater. I recall feeling underwhelmed but I forgot a lot of..this...film. It's a shame because the director Gavin Hood has actually done better things since like Ender's Game and Eye in the Sky.

I like watching his commentary reaction with Rob. Makes a good point in both vids about the opening to origins. Little jimmy accidentally kills his father in a early dramatic twist then suddenly the movie flash forwards decades and all character reflection on that moment is lost. And also Doug rightly points out that the "origin" of Sabertooth and Wolverine is pretty much the first 10 mins. Theres no progression on how kid Logan and teen Victor became the conflicting personalities in adult form.
And any director who uses the cliche loud scream of noooooo as the camera zooms out upwards, is not a good director. And he did it twice in this movie.

Well its just a over used directors trope that often triggers laughter. And when you consider its done as Logan is over the dead bodies of his father and wife, both who have zero character development, it just equates to poor writing ontop of directing.
