The rules on ties left us with only 14 instead of 16 from the semi final round.
I'm pretty disappointed with the finalists so far. But, I've seen much worse from the more controlling people here. I certainly wouldn't have picked more than about three of these from the original list. I let the votes speak for themselves without forcing issues. This makes the control freaks of the board mad, but it gives the rest of you a chance for a change.
So, now you can pick up to 4. The rules on ties will be sudden death, in a one day poll.
Deadline will be April 4 at midnight IMDB time. Still haven't figured out what that is.

It is distressing that the new "True Grit" - practically an unimaginative shot-for-shot remake - is in the semi-finals, but not the 1969 original without which the Coen Bros could not possibly have made their own version.

I just wanted to say that I think that this has been a Really Great Idea of Threads that you have come up with here. FANTASTIC JOB!
If you don't mind me saying this and your open to considering it, You also do other difficult and also unexpected ones like "Greatest SLASHER film EVER POLL" (and then you can list all of the well known Famous Slasher Movies like Psycho, Each of the Friday The 13th Movies, The Halloween Movies, The Scream Movies, Urban Legend Movies, Child's Play Movies, A Nightmare on Elm Street Movies, and so on) and also like "Greatest SCI-FI/HORROR film EVER POLL" (and then you can list all of the well known Famous Sci-Fi/Horror Movies like Alien, Aliens, Predator, John Carpenter's The Thing, and so on).
You should try it, I think that you would definitely get a lot of interesting answers from people (including myself) if you did.

1)Open Range (2003) - 10/10 2)True Grit (2010) - 8/10 3)Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) - 7.5-8/10 4)The Magnificent Seven (1960) - 7/10 mikef6The remake is just a much better movie overall if you ask me with the overall cast/tone and general cinematography etc of the movie. John Wayne is about the only thing that the 1969 movie has going for it as just about everything else is superior in the 2010 remake. so unless someone is a pretty big John Wayne fan, I just can't see how someone would like the 1969 movie over the 2010 one. pretty big gap between the two if you ask me... 8/10 (within my Top 46 movies) vs a 4/10 (below average).

The Hateful 8 is a good movie but it's sad that it has reached this stage. Not in the class of these others.
