I was pretty confident that Endgame was going to outgross IW until I saw that "confirmed" 3 hour running time. If that running time turns out to be accurate, then I think Endgame's chances of making more than IW will be considerably diminished. Let's say that the longer running time of Endgame translates to one less showing per screen per day. Assuming that it opens up on the same amount of screens as IW did, that would mean ~4,400 less showings per day.

Longer runtimes do affect box office's most of the time so yeah IW will prob end up making more.

I'll agree solely for the sake IW already showed us nearly everyone under the tent in a single film. That tease has paid off. Now it's the story arc of said picture to wrap, which surely isn't as sexy.

I think it could be possible since some back-to-back sequels have grossed lower in the past, due to them being released so early after audiences had a dose with the last one.

Then there are the fans like me, who go out and get the fates of certain characters and if our favorites die (and aren't somehow resurrected) then we skip that movie in favor of something where our favorites don't die. Granted, the only reason I went to see CIVIL WAR was because I'm a die-hard Steve Rogers and Clint Barton fan... and only went to INFINITY WAR cause a friend dragged me since no one would go with her and it was almost out of theatres. I warned her this time, if my faves die- I am not going, she can beg, plead, threaten, blackmail, and hissy-fit all she likes, I will not budge.

Then there are the fans like me, who go out and get the fates of certain characters and if our favorites die (and aren't somehow resurrected) then we skip that movie in favor of something where our favorites don't die. Granted, the only reason I went to see CIVIL WAR was because I'm a die-hard Steve Rogers and Clint Barton fan... and only went to INFINITY WAR cause a friend dragged me since no one would go with her and it was almost out of theatres. Your definition of "die-hard fan" doesn't really match what most would consider "die-hard".

Serious enough to see movies I don't actually like or enjoy watching, but not "die-hard" enough to go see a movie where my favorite characters die. Better?
