Note Dumbo 3/29. Aladdin 5/24. Lion King July. Its like they totally expect the 1st 2 to bomb & are just coasting to Lion King. Talk about over saturation. That's what I was thinking.

So when can we expect an animated Operation Dumbo Drop?

I haven't seen it but I never expected Dumbo to be a run away hit. For one it's kinda old. Not exactly taping into the same Market Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Lion King is tapping into. Granted Jungle Book is older too but that did way better than I expected.

It belongs in the same generation as Bambi and the Three Caballeros. It doesn't quite have the same iconic-ness that other Disney old-timers like Snow White and Peter Pan have so it's mostly been forgotten through time.

I remember being a small kid crying when Mom and Dumbo were separated and scared shitless at the Elephants on Parade/Drunk scene. That's about it. Going back as an adult and watching it with my Niece and Nephew the Jim Crow stereotyped jazzy massa talking crows were kind of horrible.

It's been a while but the pink elephants started as bubbles in the cartoon, I think.
