Don't get me wrong I'm going to see this movie opening weekend and I know it's like an Elseworld story. The thing is does the Joker really need an Origin Story? I find I like him as a force of nature. Some random act that comes in and destroys just because he can. I like that I don't know much about him. The Killing Joke gave him one and I really didn't care for him being humanized. I don't know. I'm probably being weird. The movie will probably blow me away.

There's a cool theory out there that suggests that Joaquin Phoenix's Joker is not quite The Joker we are most familiar with but rather the mad man who inspired them to become the clown prince of crime - I'd be down for that if it happened, DC's been trying to say there've been more than one Joker in recent years in the comics, and even on TV with Gotham.

I'm intrigued and I'll definitely check it out, though I never thought an origin story was necessary for this character. There have been so many iterations of the character at this point, this particular origin story isn't required to be the definitive one.
