Would you use a retractable roof? Why, or why not?

ABSOLUTELY !! I live in Milwaukee, and went to MANY games at old County Stadium (and will NEVER forget the coldest I've EVER been at a sporting event (including December Packer games at Lambeau Field !!), during a MISERABLE early April Time-Warner "Cable Day" Brewers game in the late 80's or early 90's....on a COMPLETELY SUNNY DAY, NO LESS !!), and was NEVER so grateful as I was when they approved the roof on the final version of Miller Park that would eventually open in 2001 !! Since we're usually freezing our butts off here for the first month or two of the baseball season, and usually for some of the last month during most seasons, the roof is a GODSEND !! And though I admit that the way the structure had to be engineered in order to accommodate the weight of that roof does end up giving the stadium a not QUITE as 'open' feeling as most stadiums without roofs have (even with the roof fully retracted), it is still COMPLETELY worth having. Also, you aren't taking into account the fact that you will NEVER go to a game, and not have one due to rain/weather (Well.....almost never. They did have to cut short one game due to a power outage once (if I remember correctly)....but that, obviously, had nothing to do with the weather). Just talk to the people that drive HOURS from different parts of the state (or other regions) to see a game, only to then have to drive all the way back home after not seeing a game (or a shortened one), due to a rainout (never mind the fact that they will then be forced to do all that driving a SECOND time, if the game is then rescheduled!!)! AND, because of that roof, we were lucky enough to get a BONUS "home" opener in 2007, when the Cleveland Indians elected to move their game here !! www.espn.com/mlb/news/story?id=2832830SAVE FERRIS

Yes because guaranteed game days are important. Toronto is freezing in April & early May nights, + Sept & Oct.

No, in fact I wouldn't even install chairs for spectators.

Football, no. Especially in a location where it can snow. Football in the snow is cool. Baseball, yes. Can't play baseball in the rain. Both, yes.

Yes. Rain. Cold Rain. Freezing Rain. Dense fog. High winds. A baseball game is much longer. There is no time limit in baseball. It finishes when it finishes.
You will be miserable watching a game in the Pacific Northwest during early-mid Spring time and the start-mid Fall.
OH YOU WILL BE MISERABLE!
