Even though I grew up loving KISS, I have a friend who had to work with Gene Simmons,briefly, and describes the whole experience as vile. Sexist and just mean on purpose, just because he can. Not a news flash for anyone, It's common knowledge.
I never met Gene Simmons personally, just saw him in concert. Luckily, I have even more fond memories of musicians I've encountered over the years:
Chris Isaak - Played at the Virgin Megastore I worked at, hung out in our breakroom, went on a major shopping spree and chatted with all us staff and customers on the store floor.
A few others I met through work or elsewhere who were exceptionally nice:
Sarah McLachlan
Queen Latifah
Nas
Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits)
Micky Dolenz (The Monkees)
J.D. Fortune (INXS)
Gord Downie (The Tragically Hip) R.I.P.
Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries) R.I.P.
Melissa Etheridge
Garth Brooks

Dave Mustaine seems pretty hard to outprick.
I've heard P!nk CAN be nice, but she can also have a disgusting bitter streak. Whatever mood she's in, it's a major mood.
I'm not sure about the Black Crowes as a whole, but Chris Robinson seems like a douche.

A mate of mine years ago was taking official photographs and said that Showaddywaddy [ i did say years ago LoL] were absolutely foul and drunk and throwing stuff at him in their dressing room, even though he was their at their behest.
Van Halen were pretty well acknowledged in the biz for having a high percentage of twats in their fold.
My son-in-law was taking photos side-stage, again officially with back-stage permits...and said that his hero , Van Morrison, who he was dead chuffed to be working with, was obnoxious .

Van Morrison is famously the man interviewers would jump off buildings to avoid.
Jackie Leven is the nicest musician I have ever met. A truly nice and funny man, much missed by those of us who adored him or Doll By Doll. John Watts of Fischer Z comes a close second.
