With the Internet filling up with hopelessly detailed predictions reflecting the wishes of fans more than anything else, I thought I would compile a list of reasonable, plausible expectations based on statements by the author, actors and whatever else makes serious sense.
The Night King will be defeated.
GRRM announced a bittersweet ending, so there will ne no White Walker apocalypse with everyone dying. Nikolaj Koster-Waldau said the ending was "not a complete downer" in a recent interview. The Night King will be killed, replaced, pushed back, offered lemon cakes or whatever it takes but he will no longer be an active threat by the end of the story. He or what drives him might be merely repulsed and remain as a potential danger.
Bran will solve the White Walker conflict, not war.
It was said by Jojen Reed in S3E10: "You saw the White Walkers and the army of the dead. The Night's Watch can't stop them. The Kings of Westeros and all their armies can't stop them".
This whole story is about the dangers of power and the cost of war. War will not be portrayed as the good answer. GRRM the pacifist will want to offer a better solution. Jon Snow calling all that breathes to the slaughter is yet another misled fool causing disaster.
Daenerys will die.
Characters don't get what they want and seldom achieve what they set out to do so Daenerys will fail at taking the Iron Throne. She was built up as a tyrant along the story, with a strong tendency to try to do good in a terrible way and her potential for inner conflict has kept diminishing. She might be made to die a hero against the Night King or she could die a tyrant later on. I hope for the latter. Her dragons will possibly die too but they could linger as some dangerous weapon and a cause for further strife between those seeking to control them. It would be a realistic outcome.
Jon Snow will not be king.
Tolkien was a Brit and a monarchist who had his story end with a good king from an illustrious line being restored and ruling well. GRRM is not and will not do this. This story does not end in a Targaryen restoration, not even from a secret one who grew up as a bastard. So Jon Snow will not end on the Iron Throne. He may die again, resign or even keep ruling the North.
Arya will not finish her little list.
Characters seldom or never reach their stated goals. I believe Arya choosing the name "Mercy" after witnessing Lady Crane's portrayal of Cersei was foreshadowing for a change of mind. Arya will decide to give up her vengeance.
Bittersweet ending.
Cersei will win (sweet) but won't have everyone beheaded (bitter) because she'll need them to make wine after the lizard bitch burned it all. That wine won't be very good.

Sansa will end in a place of power.
This is not a prediction, this was somehow "leaked" or said in some interview.
