Was the FIRST record store in the world open on this date in decades past? I do not know how it was decided that it would be celebrated on a Saturday in April. First record store in the world reportedly is Spillers Records in the UK, but I could not find the exact date of its founding.

I wish independent record shops every success, but I haven't purchased a CD in a physical store in over ten years. I'm not even aware of any dedicated music shops in my area.
For the type of music I buy, nothing can compete with the selection on Amazon.com.

Happy? Well I got everything I intended to bar 1 LP. When they rang up the total on the till and realise I went a bit out of control going through the list...not as happy as I was.
