I missed it. I was not one of the ones outraged by his appearance (I didn't know it was him, had no idea what he looked like.)
Found out it was him, thought "that's interesting," and moved on. Never caught his name.

I obviously didn't, but I was intrigued at people's outraged reaction to his appearance in S7. Was it bad or was that just the standard behaviour of any little prejudiced fuck whenever someone famous does something outside of their recognised area?

I like the reference, and hopefully it'll be a nice red head redemption, too.

It was a normal scene and you would never know if you didn't know who he was, which I did not at the time.

That couldn't have been him, wrong army. The Sheeran character was in an army sent from King's Landing to the Twins, the northernmost castle in the south. The ones who got faces burnt off came from Casterly Rock and marched down the Ocean Road to Highgarden and then up the Roseroad to King's Landing, or they marched from King's Landing to meet up with the ones marching from Highgarden. Never the twain do meet, not even close.

For Lannister gold is always cold But a dragon's hands are warm.

These troops rode to the twins, found out everyone was dead and then went to fight at highgarden with the rest of the Lannisters. Or perhaps the one specific soldier was transferred to a different area. I would agree with you if we were talking about a earlier season but none of this stuff really makes sense now. Whatever the case may be the fact she mentions his name was edd and he was a ginger is too specific. D&D love fan service stuff like this

Where do they say his name is edd? Credits or online? Because I am not catching it in his scene.

Perhaps instead of 'servicing' those murderous twats who so badly want to see this poor soldier mutilated, they're instead teasing them and in the process exposing them as the dingbats they are for forgetting he has a perfect alibi and matching two data points in the face of that is meaningless.

"That boy Eddie came back with his face burned right off. He's got no eyelids now," one woman said. "The ginger?" another asked. Its him lol

It doesn’t make sense. But It’s fan service to those who love him and hate him. I guarantee you D&D did not put one ounce of the thought you have into it. 100% guarantee. Look at how terrible the main plot is. They wanted a callback because that’s the cool to them. So they thought “hey let’s have the girl reference Ed for the fans”. “Sheeran seems to be taking the news in stride: on his Instagram Story, he posted a shot of the dialogue. “Thanks @gameofthrones, I knew I was a survivor,” he joked.” time.com/5570839/game-of-thrones-ed-sheeran-cameo/
