Light speed really isn't as fast as you make it out to be when it comes to interstellar travel. She could be several galaxies away and not in range of the signal, assuming he sent it. Even if she was in range of the signal, the entire battle would have been over by the time she arrived. The events in the Avengers took place over a couple of days at most. Looking at the after credit scene from Captain Marvel, the signal from the pager has been sending continuously for quite some time (a few weeks) before she finally arrived. Personally, I don't think he sent the signal. He formed the Avengers so that he wouldn't have to. He was confident that they could hold the line, especially with Thor (equal in power to Captain Marvel) on their side. I think people in here are sketchy on how light speed travel works. Here again you come up with overanalyze Xcuse. If MCU is big as it is then it shouldn't be getting free passes just because "suspension of disbelief". Im questioning the writing and explanation that connects these movies after all people keep saying how well constructed the MCU phases are well theres some dodgy holes i can see Yes, namely you. Vissaggo has already laid it out for you, try reading it again. You treat 'light speed' like it's teleportation.

Talk about speculation - you assume that Carol can simply put her hand through the force field? LoL. Can a steel sword easily penetrate a steel shield just because they're both made of steel? Can ice easily merge with ice? Well havent we seen throughout the movies that only powerful beings can handle infinity stones by hand? Given that Carol herself has been powered by the energy of the tesseract as seen in Captain Marvel and she has handled the cube by hand, its without doubt really that she could penetrate the cosmic cubes barrier. I know weve had the discussion before about why Fury didnt call cap marvel. But only revisiting it because no one's mentioned that the tesseract gave her powers and she knows how to handle it and since NY was battling over it, would make sense for fury to call thr expert. If the battle was over the soul gem for example then Id agree its not paramount to page her

Ues to her time would dilate. So the 2.5 million years wouldn't seem like that long to her, but it would still take her 2.5 million years. It would take 2.5million years from our perspective. But from hers maybe minutes. Paradox

Are you saying Thor could have easily penetrated the cube's barrier? As for Carol being able to control the Tesseract... where did you get that nonsense? Do you see CM teleporting? Because you know, that's kind of what the space stone allows you to do. Just because she got her powers from the Tesseract doesn't mean she can control it. It gave her flight and the power to make photon blasts. Let's not create additional make-believe powers for her. It also doesn't make her an expert. That's like saying Steve Rogers is an expert on the super soldier serum.

So why would Fury call on someone that would take 2.5 million years to get here?

Im questioning the writing and explanation that connects these movies after all people keep saying how well constructed the MCU phases are well theres some dodgy holes i can see Actually it's not that sketchy as Vassago explained. Your explanation is that with light speed, she could arrive at earth quicker because of the effect on time. But that's only from her perspective. You have to look at it from Earth's perspective and you have to consider the effects of gravity as well. Minutes, hours or days for her for her could be years for us. Watch Interstellar again. It may help you better understand it. Jump points are the only thing established in the MCU that would help her travel quicker, but even those aren't instantaneous. I'm not denying there are some holes in the films, but it's just not enough to bother most considering the amount of films involved and the effort it required to make them work as a shared universe. This is a minor inconsistency if you want to call it that. If only your level of scrutiny applied to the Fox-Men films as well. You could write a book on the mess that those films were, yet we never see posts like this from you on the X-Men board.

Geez Louise! How many sci-fi franchises totally ignore the science regarding relativity and light speed travel? Roughly all of them!
Star Trek Star Wars
Do those 2 examples ring a bell? So if the MCU also ignores it, it's not a deal breaker! The stupidity is getting way too thick around here.

Traveling at the Speed of Light 299,999.997 km/sec the length of a second relative to earth's second is 19.6 hours. So if you go the speed of light it would take 4.5 years to go from Earth to Proximia Centuria. As it's 4.5 light years away. That's immutable. To the people on a ship going the speed of light it takes 4.5 years to get there. Where the time dilation takes place is what happens to the rest of the space time. To her 4.5 years took place, but in reality she basically jumped time. 4.5 years on a ship traveling at the speed of light corresponds to roughly 36 years on Earth. When the spaceship got to Proximia Centuria, the people onboard would be 36 years into their future-(ie we would all be 36 years older) -but they would be only 4.5 years older than when they left.

We on Earth still have to wait the full 2.5 million years for her to arrive.
