Brock Holmes was just 23 years old when he disappeared on the night of October 7th 2009, in Monroe, Washington. Brock's mother, Lori Bowling said he had fell into the wrong group of friends, but was getting his life back on track by moving back in with his mom and taking a job at a local Chevron gas station.
“When he came back to live with me, it was just, we had the most fantastic time getting to know each other all over again. He was getting to know his sister. He was just doing really well,” said his mom, Lori Bowling.
Snohomish County Sheriff's Det. Brad Walvatne has been working to establish a timeline of what happened the day Brock disappeared.
Brock was picked up at his house by his friend. They went to a bar in Sultan (6 miles East of Monroe) at Bubba’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill where they played pool and had some drinks.
They then crossed the highway to the Dutch Cup Restaurant.
Brocks friends told Detective Kelly Willoth that he left the restaurant with some acquaintances, headed to their house on Florence Acres Rd. Those men said the last time they saw Holmes was around midnight.
His friends reported his mother Lori had offered a ride to Brock, but he refused, saying he already arranged a ride.
When Brock left the house, his friends did not see him get into a car, or know which way he walked.
Brock’s cell phone had no incoming or outgoing calls after 6:30 pm that night. Police never recovered his phone.
When Brock didn't show up for work the next morning, his mom called the police and the search started but they found no leads.
There are many rumors about what happened that night. Some say he might've been hit by a car, was shot, or some sort of accident.
This case intrigued me because I grew up in Monroe and Sultan, and my house was not far from Brock's friends house on Florence Acres Rd. I was younger when this happened, so I don't recall any news stories or anything. Just what little information I could find.
