1. Pink Floyd
I am genuinely not sure who to pick for numbers 2 and 3. All the ones I can think of (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Queen, ABBA, U2), I really only know their greatest hits. There isn't any album from any of those bands that I know by heart like I know "The Wall" or "The Dark Side of the Moon" or "Wish You Were Here" or "The Final Cut".

A little while back (after the movie came out) I went through Queen's albums chronologically and there was a lot of filler. Other than their 20 or so hits there wasn't anything I'd want to listen to again. Can't say that about Rush, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin or U2 (up to and including Joshua Tree).

To you and the other Rush fans
Anyone familiar with Max Webster? Canadian band headed by Kim Mitchell. Max and Rush were good friends and cut a song together.
Never that big of a Rush fan (overplayed of Buffalo Classic Rock Radio, they must think we are close to Canada) but this is one on the great unknown tunes. Mitchell and Geddy's voices blend well together and the bass in that song is epic.

Supposed to be a new Tool album this year, although it's been quiet on that front for a few weeks now. They announced a handful of shows in the US and some festivals as well, but I'm dying for them to come up to NY. I saw them in 1994 at Roseland in NYC, the only time I saw them. I've seen Perfect Circle and Puscifer but I would jump at the chance to catch Tool again. Awesome stuff. Highly skilled group. Tool SUCKS live now. I love the band, of course, but Tool just sucks now. I just saw them live recently and Maynard had his mic turned down all the way down. He also hid in the back behind the drums. The guitar was also having problems working and would cut in and out. It was one of the worst shows I have ever seen and they are one of my favorite bands. I hear you, but things like that tend to be more of a one-off issue or something with the venue. I can't imagine that every single show would feature those types of mishaps, although Maynard hanging out in the back of the stage is weird. As an avid concert goer, I can't tell you how many times I've seen a band, even a favorite band, have technical difficulties. I've seen it happen to Roger Waters, The Who, Radiohead, Soundgarden, not to mention at every single festival I've been to, there's always one stage that is just plagued with issues throughout the entirety of the fest. Tough to chalk those things up to the band sucking. If it happened at multiple shows across multiple venues, then I can get on board more easily. The outlier - Nine Inch Nails. I've seen them about 15 times or so and no matter where it is, they always sound absolutely perfect. I'm talking pristine. We've all been to those shows where you can't hear the vocal at all, the bass is overpowering the guitar, there's too much feedback, what have you. Hell, I always keep a pair of ear buds in my pocket at shows because sometimes it's so loud you can't hear anything at all - plus I don't want to go deaf. Wow, I just sounded every bit like a 40 year old. But not Nine Inch Nails. Even at shitty Jones Beach (or the Tommy Hilfiger Arena as I believe it's called now), which has the shittiest sound system on the eastern seaboard, they sounded awesome. Every instrument, every lyric, every note is perfectly distinguishable from the next. Plus, Trent kicks ass.

I had a terrible cold during the time of the concert but I didn't care if I died there as long as I made it until the end. Trent is my spirit animal.

I would totally want to do karate in the garage with Trent. My wife doesn’t care one iota about NIN but I talk about them frequently. I told her that whenever she talks about Trent she must refer to him as Acadamy Award Winner Trent Reznor. Every single time.

In the 11.5 years that we've been together, we've gone to 2 concerts together - Jazz Fest 2017 (where we basically saw completely separate lineups save for Harry Connick Jr. and Rebirth) and a few weeks ago I dragged her to Gary Clark Jr. when my friend got sick and couldn't make it. If I had to listen to the shit she listens to on a regular basis, I think I'd prefer being deaf. But through all that, she actually does like Nine Inch Nails. To me, that's a testament to Trent's awesomeness.

I agree to an extent about every show being different, but this seems to be a running theme with Maynard. He is just a whack job. I love NIN though.

They were awesome and she liked them too. The other was Adele. I got tickets for her for her birthday. I recognize her talent, she is undeniably a great singer, but it was boring as fuck. I’d like to take her to a Gwar concert so she can see the other end of the live show spectrum.

Chevelle are big Tool fans, they've opened for them too, but a great band, I think of them similar to Filter, get their last album as an introduction, really great stuff.
