2nd time in 2 years Arrieta has done this.
STFU. Keep it in house.
How do you handle a problem with a coworker?
Confront them one on one - or be a giant bitch like Arrieta and air it out in public?
Harper admitted he was wrong
Harper was tossed last night from the dugout complaining balls and strikes and proceeded to get tossed and then get a overzealous and confront the ump - again admitted he was wrong.
Arrieta aired it out in public it was the wrong move. Obviously. Keep it in house
Rodent - Rat - Worm - Weasel - Snake .........

Well so much for coming out tomorrow ready to play. there was like an hour and half rain delay - should have been called IMO
but this is after laying a giant egg in Colorado and losing 3 of 4..........
mlb is a marathon - not a race. like what I see so far - but just like every other team under the sun - want more pitching (starting 5 and bullpen)
nola has struggled thus far and pivetta has already been sent down
they'll be fine.
we're not even out of April and this team has generated the most excitement out of a Phils team since 2011.

I have to say I’m not a fan of his. Unless he’s throwing perfect games himself he should shut up with the public comments.

Everything he said was 100% right, but I'm with you, I never like to see guys making pointed comments toward teammates in the media. It just never works out well. Harper, to his credit, backed Arrieta publicly and seemingly defused the entire thing.
To me, the most troubling aspect of it, is the fact that Arrieta, in addition to calling out Harper, said the entire team came out flat (which is true), but followed up with "I'm out there, doing everything I can to win the game." That's not what a leader does. A leader says "we didn't come out ready to play" and leaves it at that. Not, I did everything I could but the rest of the team came out flat.
Even if they came out sharper last night, it probably wouldn't have mattered. Zack Wheeler was as good as I've ever seen him, his fastball was sitting around 99/100 all night and his off speed stuff was perfectly located and had as sharp a break as you'll see. Since a mini slump to open the year, he's looked more like the Wheeler from the 2nd half last year.

I almost want to say they should ditch him and go with a 4-man rotation but they already use their bullpen plenty as it is.

I remember there was an AFL player at Brisbane who threw his team mates under a bus a couple if times in the media. His coach Robert Walls was an old school guy who once turned down a match payment because he "hadn't earned the money." He wasn't going to put up with that nonsense. He called a team meeting on the training ground. They made a circle with their cars and and Walls had him go one onone bare knuckle with every player on the senior list. Daresay thst shut him up.

Vargas is the worst pitcher in the NL.

Far as I know Kobe was hands down the worst at this. He took it to an extreme calling out guys relentlessly and repeatedly to the media.
