Went down to the dawn service today with over a thousand others to remember our fallen and those still serving.
Numpties who protest this day don't realise we're not going to glorify wars, but to remember and offer support to the young men and women who were and still are asked to fight them.
Had a good friend who served in Vietnam and was haunted by what he saw there the rest of his life. He went there to serve his country and lost a part of his soul. I know another guy from Narrabeen who served in Afghanistan and drove to Gilgandra overnight because a friend he served with was contemplating blowing his head off. My friend had to receive multiple rounds of electroshock therapy due to PTSD. There's a massive cost our servicemen pay and continue to pay long after returning home.
