D-Line and Secondary next
then fill out the team with skilled position players - i.e. WR and RB

Falcons draft another O-Lineman with their 31st pick. I like the selection of a tackle as RT is the weakness on the Falcons O-Line, and it’s nice that we got 2 more blockers to protect Ryan, but we have to get a CB soon, hopefully we will draft either Williams or Murphy in the second round. A D-Lineman would be nice as well.

Congrats Cardinals on landing Murray. Now you better strengthen your wet paper tissue of an o-line and your shitty receiving corps or you'll waste him just like you wasted Rosen. Murray's a good runner and he'll need to be with that line "protecting" him.
Rosen to Patriots or Chargers is my guess.

Well our O Line just improved a lot at least. McGary is that tackle I was complaining about not getting earlier. Now those O linemen we picked up earlier this year are solid depth instead of mediocre starters. Artie said Matt Ryan plays a lot better vertically than horizontally and it's hard to argue with that.
Considering how bad Atlanta has missed with Beasely and with the jury still out on Tak McKinley, missing on yet another edge rusher would have sucked. Still not happy they are giving Bustley 13 million tho.

Arthur Blanks decided to stick his hand in this year and demanded some O line starters.

I know Oliver was a better player than where he was drafted and there were no OL or WR worthy at #9 but they could have traded down. Allen really needs blockers and a pocket so he doesn’t get thumped and doesn’t feel the need to run all the time. There are some good players at that position still for tomorrow I guess. If Allen gets hurt because the line is a clusterfuck, the fans will not be happy. |

Patriots taking WR N'Keal Harry whose game I read ticks some TE boxes - big, sure handed, able to dominate with size rather than speed.
More of those outside routes that Gronk was running to come. I'm alright with that.
As for the Giants, maybe they wanted a bit of a safer QB to game with Barkley, who knows.

As a Packers fan I'm iffy on the first round so far.
I wasn't pleased with how the draft fell to them at #1 as my 3 top choices were gone: Hockenson, Oliver, Bush. So I was rooting for a trade down or take an OL or take Noah Fant. Welp, instead they took possibly the one guy who I knew I didn't want in Gary. He is nothing but hype and never produced a damn thing in college. He's the definition of a project. Not a fan.
Then trading up with Seattle from 30 to 21 only giving up 2 4th rounders plus 30 to do so was very minimal to grab Safety Savage Jr. I thought that was too early for him but reports were that the Raiders and Colts were going to take him soon after. I like this pick a lot for GB. Fits a huge need and the guy is fast and his tape is really impressive. He could be an awesome combo with Amos for the next few years.
Overall in terms of the Draft itself. Obviously some questionable moves like Ferrell at 4 to Oakland and Jones at 6 to the Giants. Haskins falling to Washington is huge for them.
This draft so far has been VERY defense heavy. Which was to be expected given the talent however it's still just odd not seeing multiple WR's taken or multiple CB's taken. I think only 2 WR's went and only 1 CB went in R1.
Tomorrow night should honestly be a lot more interesting imo. A lot of talent there for teams picking early to mid 2nd round.

Cardinals are dumb - they traded up to get a guy and gave him one year on a shitty team? Are they trying to be the new Browns now that the Browns are finally somewhat respectable? |

I don't like Rosen as a person but don't really think he was given a fair opportunity - I think there must be something they see in his personality they don't like (i.e. he's a douche which pretty much everybody already knew) and wanted him off the team.
After they drafted Kyler, if I were the Giants I would have offered that early 2nd Rounder that was rumored to get a deal done - maybe they did and the Cardinals didn't bite and were holding out for a 1st.
I would have even offered that 2nd 1st Rounder and maybe sweetened it with an additional later round pick fearful their rival the 'Skins would have traded their pick for him.
Maybe that's what they were doing - playing teams who needed a QB (Giants and Skins) against each other and asked for a ransom and nobody bit and the Giants and Skins figured they'd just draft their own and mold/grow him.

If the Bills had ended up with the first pick and taken a QB, I would be livid. Rosen didn't set the world on fire, but he wasn't a bust. A 3-13 team had a lot of need, upgrading the QB position isn't one of them. The Cards did this because Kliff Kingsbury is in love with Kyler Murray. Has been since KK tried to recruit him at Texas Tech. They even have the same agent. Imagine if the Cards trade Rosen and he turn out to be a solid player, let alone a star, while Murray falls flat on his face. Had Arizona hyped up Murray then entertained offer for the pick, they could have reaped a bonanza of players/picks. Stupid.

DeAndre Baker is rumored to be sliding after he didn't play in the Sugar Bowl. NFL coaches allegedly didn't like that he said he would play then changed his mind less than 2 weeks before the game. He would be a little bit of a reach at 14 but a bargain if he slid into 2nd round. Of course Falcons HATE taking former Georgia players. New England loves them but what has that organization done lately? I prefer Williams from LSU or Murphy from Washington as DB selections over Baker. Baker has never been all that impressive to me to be honest, but if he’s available in the second round and the other 2 aren’t, then selecting him would be a good move. Baker slid to the bottom of the first round but he was still the first DB selected. I got the slide right but as far as who the best DB is we will have to wait and see. I am surprised Greedy is still available. Bad interviewee maybe? He's not a great tackler either.

perhaps the GMEN take Drew Lock with their early 2nd rounder - or trade it for Rosen?
