Wow. Talk about living up to the hype.
If you aren’t a MCU fan, I’d suggest you get a bit of an idea of what led up to this movie beforehand if you wish to see it. But even as a stand-alone film, it’s still awesome.
I just can’t get over how good it actually is. Everything about it is top notch. Everything. It’s a bit predictable (especially for heavily invested fans) but even then, how it gets there and how it goes from the predictability is impressive.
Much like horror movies, the Marvel movies prove that if you get quality actors in big roles in action movies, they improve the entire movie. The difference between Marvel, The DC movies and the Transformers movies are stark (no pun intended) - the actors involved. RDJ, Johansson, Renner and Hemsworth are all excellent. Outstanding. No Affleck, Shia La Beouf or Mark Wahlbergs here. The story lines are as silly as each other. But the acting is light years apart.
