Rewriting the record books
Prior to this, there was something called Tater Trot Tracker and they kept records of HR trot times. Their records go back to 2007 and David Ortiz held that record at 33.39 seconds. Hoskins broke that record as well. There is a video on twitter of a side by side of last nights trot and a normal HR trot from Hoskins both against the Mets. Both are played in real time synced up to the bat hitting the ball. In the normal trot, Hoskins is already back in the dugout before Hoskins even came near 3rd base last night.

Same pitcher throwed at Hoskins head the night prior - in the Ninth when the Mutts were up like 9-0 or something (may have the score wrong).
It was a statement by Hosky.
I loved it.
Loved the sidestep trot crossing home too.

and I don't really blame pitchers 'brushing' the phils off the plate inside - if they're going to celebrate like they do after lighting it up - there's going to be some repercussions from the opposing team - if I was an opposing team/fan - i'd hate their over the top celebrations - kind of like the Hurricanes in Hockey - but I don't condone head hunting 2 times when a team is up 9-0 in the 9th.
if you're going to brush somebody off which I love fine - if you're going to intentionally hit a batter to make a statement fine - try to hit lower mid section (even that's dangerous with ribs), i.e. backside or legs - (I think feet is dirty too)
karma came a lookin' for this d*ck

Whatever happened to batters wearing armor, like Bonds used to? I kind of remember it being outlawed, but not sure.

you mean his steroids?
i'm kiddin' dude and I'm a Bonds fan - i'm thinking you're talking about 'chin protectors' on a helmet and 'ankle and shin protectors' by the feet - I always thought it was typically worn by batters masking/recovering from an injury.

Hoskins is turning into a great hitter but I do think he needlessly acted like a puss last week after an inside pitch or two. Also don't have any problem with the slow trot.

Also don't have any problem with the slow trot. he's kind of developed a chip on his shoulder which I like because he's 'ours' - but if I were opposing teams i'd be like what the f*ck have you done in this league kid? (yes I get him getting called up and hitting an impressive # of homers the last month of the season his first year - then him making a good showing in the home run derby last year - but that's it - IMO he struggled in the outfield last year after they signed Santana to play at 1st)
I love the chippiness though - hoping the move back to 1st this year makes him more comfortable.
that was a bad loss last night to the Fish.
thinking they're missing Segura. anywho - marathon and not a race - hard to believe it's still April - they've been floundering as of late - like 13-12 - maybe when the weather gets warmer the ball starts flying off the bats again.

Shouldn't be losing to the last place team with your ace on the mound. And Segura and Herrera shouldn't be needed there. There is something off with Philly right now but it's early and these types of problems have been known to turn around as the season progresses.

just read Roman Quinn is out at least 6 weeks.
that's it. I've had it. can we finally be done with this guy? I mean all we've been hearing for years upon years is what an elite prospect he is - for years - and then years upon years - it's either an ingrown toenail, sprained pinky, swollen big toe, ........
I'm done. Out! Out!
