The Juventus striker has never exactly been a readers' favourite since she started her weekly column a few months ago. But this week she has particularly riled quite a few fans, with her, admittedly, rather naïve take on the title race. Then again, they are Guardian readers ha ha. Not sure what she means by 'rock and roll' football - helter-skelter? up and down rollercoaster? Hardly. They've been solid and consistent this season; they wouldn't be where they are now if not. Hardly rock and roll. As for now or never, is she saying that Liverpool will never win the league if they don't win it in May? I don't understand, and neither, it seems, do the many readers who have responded negatively to her and her column. But it's that last highlighted few words that tell me Aluko is not to be taken seriously as a columnist. Good for a laugh, though. "If Liverpool finish second, the effect will be psychologically devastating" with readers' comments. Perhaps her article went to press before she could read, and, if psychologically capable, absorb Jurgen Klopp's comments today which makes a complete mockery of her column inches :

While definitely hyperbolic, I don't find "now or never" particularly unreasonable. When a club hasn't won for 33 years, assuming future success is a mug's game. After watching their team potentially rack up 97 points and still no title a long suffering supporter has every right to ask the question "if not now, when?"
Now of course some of the other ideas in there are a little silly. But most of the comments were focussed on that one. I get Liverpool fans are really keen to see their team win, but it's no fait accompli. The other big 6 teams aren't going to politely stand still for a couple of years so Liverpool can brrak their title drought.

Liverpool's season can still be a success if they win CL.

Except there are no other Big Six teams this season. There is only a Big Two. Even Spurs, who may just make it a Big Three, have lost 11 games so far this season. The other three so-called Big Six sides are not worthy of the accolade on the strength of what they've done domestically this season. Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd have been average to poor all season and Big Six in name, tradition and revenue only. I'd sooner spend an afternoon at Molineux than at any of those last three clubs' grounds. They may be 'top' six but Wolves have played more entertaining and watchable football than any of them despite losing 12 games so far. This Big Six misconception needs filing away.

Never say never...
But I can't see either City or Liverpool leaving any points on the pitch from here on.
Liverpool threw away the lead they had around Christmas.

Them salty saps have changed title of article.
"Incredible title race – who is watching who? Liverpool have to believe that City will slip up"
