World snooker champion Mark Williams has gone to hospital with chest pains following the opening session of his second-round World Championship game at the Crucible. The 44-year-old Welshman went to hospital after his session against David Gilbert, who he is trailing 5-3. He tweeted: "A&E. Could be hear a while, couldn't stick the chest pains no more. "Lucky there wasn't any more frames to play." After his session against England's Gilbert finished, Williams felt unwell and was advised by a doctor at the venue to go to hospital. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/48073349Hope he's OK. He should have asked the ref. to end the session early. You don't mess around with chest pains.

He's only 44, I hope it's nothing serious. I'm a similar age but a few years ago I had some chest discomfort for a couple of weeks (yeah, I know, I should have hotfooted it to the hospital straight away but a part of you feels stupid for making a fuss). Eventually waited it out in A&E and had tests done, etc. Turned out it was most likely Costochondritis which is an inflammation around the chest wall - not my ol' ticker, thankfully! Was told it would clear up on its own if I rested up. Was very relieved to see it diminish within a week or two after that. My heart health was fine and I hope to keep it that way!

He said doctors have told him it's nothing to do with his heart. They want to perform more tests. Maybe he has the same thing as you did!

Could be! Although I don't remember it coming on suddenly like this seems to for him. Stress can strain the muscles around the chest wall though so maybe the tournament was taking its toll on him a bit?
