Are they going to skip the whole intro with the flip tiles showing how far the Night King did(n't) get? The more I think about the last episode... the more disappointed I get.

I kinda know the feeling, but it might be that it fits perfectly between the brilliant "Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' and the aftermath next episode. The lack of a denouement really hurts it as an individual episode. One thing it had going for it is I was never bored as I was constantly trying to figure out what was going on and time just flew by despite the extended length.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode... granted.. it was so I could get my face closer to squint at the screen... The tension was great. The conclusion just sucked. I'm just letdown that waaay too many people survived.. after 2 episodes of "Most of us won't be alive in episode 4" discussions. ...and The Night King/Others story arc - which we we're told for years was the real story - had no payoff and is concluded as if it was a plot device of setting up a battle with Cersei.

Question is...do they still get a long winter? Like...did the NK bring the cold or is it just convenient timing?
Also yes...the more i think about what 'could' have been for the last episode the angrier i get because they missed the target. When me and my moron apprentice and some fat carpenter can think up better moments regarding most every character and especially the NK death scene then i shake my head at these paid writers. They wouldnt have even had to do much...just give Jon a damn moment. This was his fight for years! He didn't have a single damn moment to write home about.

I like it better that way. The White Walker storyline was by far my least favorite part of the series. When D&D stated they wouldn't have the White Walkers speak at any moment in the series, I had suspected the storyline would be a very unfulfilling ending...I was wrong. The political and human aspect of the series is what I enjoy. I'm not trying to watch The Walking Dead or some other horror show for high school kids.
