Warriors forward Kevin Durant isn’t quite sure why Rockets guard James Harden’s foul-drawing tactics inspire so much hand-wringing.
More than a half-decade ago, when the two were college-age phenoms on the Thunder, Durant noticed Harden start to master all the nuances that have made Harden an annual leader in free-throw attempts: the hesitation on his step-back 3-pointer, the physicality on drives to the rim, the forward movement on his shooting motion. Durant doesn’t see Harden doing anything against the rules, so he is left to wonder: Why are people so upset about it?
