CC Sabathia just became only the third lefty in MLB history to join the 3,000 strikeout club, behind only Randy Johnson and Steve Carlton. Some other key numbers:
247-153 3.69 era 1 Cy Young, 4 other top 5 finishes 1 ALCS MVP 1 ring 6 time All Star
I don’t see a first ballot election but I think he’ll get in. If the barely deserving Mussina got in then he should at some point as well.

You'd think he'd be able to get to 250 wins.
Right now there are only 22 pitchers who have one hundred wins. Verlander is the only other pitcher with over 200. Forget having a pitcher with 300 wins ever again, Sabathia is going to be one of the lasts to ever get 250 again. Does Zach Grienke have 58 more wins in him? Jon Lester 72? Max Scherzer 90? Madison Bumgartner is the only pitcher younger than 30 who has over 100 wins, and he has 111.
I think he can get in just because of that.

He'll get in on his 4th or 5th ballot. I honestly think if Mussina and Morris didn't get in, Sabathia had zero chance but those two opened the door for a lot of pitchers.

Without looking up his stats I think that other than Ks Mussina has better overall numbers, but CC has some additional hardware and a brief period of greater dominance. I would have less of a problem with CC getting elected than I did with Mussina.

I'd say Mussina is better overall but they're pretty close, for HOF voting purposes, he gets in now. I didn't think he would have been before Morris/Mussina got in.

Mussina's ERA is 3.68 and Sabathia's is 3.69! However, Mussina's WAR is 82.8 and Sabathia's is 63.2.

What's next - Panda gets in over Bonds? Both have zero shot of ever getting in. But I'd put Panda in before Bonds. Bonds took steroids. Panda took Fruity Pebbles.

it's a real shame when this fat clown gets in but 'The Rocket' is being blackballed........ Not a shame at all. Clemens cheated. He dug his own grave. If he would have just continued on without using steroids he would have been a top five pitcher of all time. So he doesn't get in.
