Remember how the heroes would always dismember or burn or decapitate Freddy Michael or Jason and then by the next sequel they would be just fine? Ready to reign terror once more?
Wouldn't it be hilarious if Arya and bran or should I say the three-eyed Raven start rejoicing over the Night King's death and then all of a sudden the little shards of broken ice begin to reconstitute and lo and behold he's back again?

Without Martin's source material they are lost, and they only want to get away from the crapfest they created.
