I’m having some serious doubts that this movie is getting made. At this point, I can understand that.

I'm fine with them polishing the script and not rushing the film like what Snyder & co did . Nothing wrong with taking your sweet time to get it right. Also , very intrigued as to who they'll cast as The Batman

Wouldn't that be a good thing though ? lol . I want a younger / hungrier actor to portray the Batman this time around.

A new Batman is no longer the kind of thing that makes front page news. Assuming this movie does get made, don’t be surprised if it has trouble making half of a billion dollars.

LMAO Batman is not at all a washed up property. Come on now . TDK trilogy is still talked about and fresh in a lot of movie fans' minds last time I checked . And you really think a new Batman film directed by the guy that did a great job with those Apes films will struggle to make $500 million??! lol One of his Apes films made over $700 million worldwide so there's that. And actually I do think the casting of Batman has to go to a much younger / hungrier actor. Not saying they'll catch lightening in the bottle again like they did with Bale but Affleck was so wrong from the get go . He was clearly just phoning it in and did a putrid job . Lets not write off the Batman just yet . Oh and it will get made . Too much potential $$$$$ profits involved .

Not only did BvS fail to cross so much as $900 million, but Justice League was a straight up disappointment. Then you have The LEGO Batman Movie, which, despite getting good reviews, made a good deal less money than the original LEGO movie. Face it, Batman’s days of being a big deal are over. You can’t keep citing movies that came out a decade ago as proof that the character is still popular.

And that's what I was sorta getting at . Zac Snyder totally rushed that film and turned it into a trainwreck . But here we have a director in Matt Reeves who is taking his sweet time in getting The Batman script & storyline juuuuuussssst right. I respect the hell out of that . Dc fans really need to have patience cause good things come to those that wait. And as for your comment "Batman's days of being a big deal are over" . Haha jfc I don't even know how to respond to that . Its flat out laughable . I guess Batman should hang it up and turn over the reigns to Rocket Raccoon or whatever silly MCU character that was . Also, lets stop acting like TDK trilogy is some ancient history or something. It still is talked about constantly among film fans.

Well, the guy is eighty years old... Now that I think of it, what with being heir apparent for all those years, Dick Grayson must have the patience of Prince Charles.

The movie was announced in 2013, and was originally meant to be released in July 2015 before they chose to move it back. Anyway, as someone who used to be a massive Bat-fan, believe me when I say that I want the idea that Batman is still a big deal to be true. The problem is that the performance of every movie he’s headlined for the past three years would suggest otherwise. I just can’t imagine that a Matt Reeves Batman film in 2021 would be a billion dollar earner.

I’m having some serious doubts that this movie is getting made. At this point I’d be more surprised if it does get made than if it doesn’t. That’s a shame because if I had to pick one director to make a Batman movie right now, it would’ve been Matt Reeves. They made a great call and of course they’re teetering on the edge of botching it.
