What strange bedfellows this campaign is likely to make.
Doesn't anyone there realize the most plausible reason they made Monica Rambeau so young in the movie is so 25 years later she'll be the right age to cast a thirty-something actress they can give powers to as the typical Marvel movie has two or so superheros in it anyways?

The funny part is that they never called her Captain Marvel. I don't think they did in Endgame, either. What if the Captain Marvel name was for Monica the entire time? What if this was a backdoor origin movie for Monica, but using Carol as the lead?

Do I think the MCU could have cast someone better for the role than Brie? Sure... but then I think the same thing about a number of the roles in the MCU. Doesn't mean that Brie deserves to get kicked out just because some people are unhappy with her casting.
On a different note, if people are going to play the "diversity" card then I suggest they go with Kamala Khan for Captain Marvel instead of Monica Rambeau. Cast Priyanka Chopra in it. She'd be the first Indian (or maybe even the first Asian) to portray a major superhero character in Hollywood.
