I am no longer convinced that it is Best for the Lakers (which are my own Favorite NBA Team) to keep LeBron James.
That said, I really don't know if the Pelicans would even be interested in doing a trade like that and if I honestly had to guess then I would say probably not.

I still expect that proposed trade months ago to happen on draft night - i.e. kuzma, ball, ingram, assets for AD.
I don't think i'd do it if the Lakers are expected to throw in a couple of #1s too - AD can't seem to stay on the court and always has little nagging injuries.

I know that I am pretty much living on Fantasy Island with what I am about to say but if I was Running the Lakers then this below is what I would do to try and at the very least bring the team back to life.
1. Hire either Mark Jackson or Becky Hammon to be the Next Head Coach of the Lakers.
2. Try and Trade LeBron James to the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis.
3. Then meet with Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving (I think Irving is also a Free Agent this off-season) and try to convince at least 2 of them to join the Lakers.
Again though, I am really living on Fantasy Island when it comes to all of that.

I had heard a while back (even before he was Running the New York Knicks) that if he did come back and coach, he wouldn't be able to always travel with the team for Road Games. Now I don't know if that is indeed true or not but if it is then I have no idea why he wouldn't be able to coach in those Games.

I was one of the few Sixers fans who did not want LeBron to join the Sixers. Directly or indirectly, he is a destroyer of teams. Everything is about him and what he wants. I also wrote on this site that the NBA will be better off when LeBron is gone from the league. This year's playoffs are proof of that.

I also wrote on this site that the NBA will be better off when LeBron is gone from the league. This year's playoffs are proof of that. I'm happy to an extent - we shall see what happens the remainder of the playoffs. I don't expect Toronto to continue to be this cold. Then - if we make it past this round - Milwaukee/Boston next who they have had trouble with over the past couple of years. I would argue though - if you added LeBron to Simmons, Embiid, Saric and Cov - I think we could have been staring at 3 straight titles. I think it was a poor move on his part. He could have collected 2-3 more titles then retired and went off to live in L.A. I think it all comes down to what happens the remainder of the playoffs - and then we have a very interesting offseason - i.e. if Brown is retained and if they choose to Max Butler and Harris or look elsewhere. There's always grumblings about how Embiid and Simmons don't fit together - I hate when I read/hear this. They're both so young and talented (although I do get frustrated with both at times) and I think it goes without question Brand is going to Max Simmons this offseason. Hoping Brand isn't so bold that he deals him this offseason (i.e. looking for a better fit - a more traditional PG) - just (like everybody) want to see him work on his shot a bit this offseason. And Embiid with his conditioning - Landry Shamet recently came out that Embiid would go to Chic-Fil-A and load up on like 4 chicken sandwiches and milkshakes - I get he's young and big - but he's got the potential to be one of the best ever. He looks so gassed at times during the playoffs - and I know he's suffering with tendinitis and recently gastroenteritis - but I wish they'd put a nutritionist at his side at all times like they did the 2 years they sat him out. i.e. - No fast food.
