After their demolition of ManUtd, I had to watch the Toffees again to see whether that was a one-off result and performance. It wasn't. They played the same way. Fast-paced, lots of slick passing, enthusiasm and commitment. Both goals were a bit lucky. A ricochet and a flagrant offside, to my mind at least, although I confess that I'm no longer sure what is or isn't allowed. Some clarification of the "interfering with play/not interfering with play" part is badly needed. However the goals were no more than deserved. Burnley, as is their wont, never surrendered but their two strikers got little change out of Keane and Zouma. Gueye was my MoM and the absence of the classy Gomes was not noticed. My only criticism of Silva's team is the continued playing of Calvert-Lewin, who as strikers go, scores so seldom that when the odd half-chance presents itself to him, he's at a loss as to what to do. The Toffees must be impatiently awaiting next season, now that they have a decent team. This being the last game of the season at Goodison, the players brought on all their kids at the end to wave to the fans. Some nice moments there.
