Not to do with OP but in general: When people of OLD RFS board were switching over to this board they were given a promise that OT threads will be allowed here. Steve is within his rights to start his poetry threads. If anyone does not like his threads then may be ignore function can be of help (as OP plans to do so). Yup, Ignore works. Took some extra effort to get it to work properly, but it works pretty damn well in the end.

When you block a poster, their threads are still visible. I believe that shortly after this board started, it was possible to also block threads by blocked posters. But either they removed this setting option, or I am too dense to find it. Given those options, it's not looking very good for you. I found out today that these two were not the only options. One other option (probably) was: My browser updated itself, and the plugin got lost. I reinstalled the User Blockable Thread plugin today, and now the thread blocking works.

Ive blocked him since day due to the poetry spam. It was weird though, to be able to block threads, you had to end up at the block screen, and click back on your browser, then forward again - or something equally weird - to make the block thread feature appear. Some weird bug. imdb2.freeforums.net/post/18468/threadIs there a plugin for Macs?

OT threads are fine, it's board-spamming that's the problem. I only ever block board spammers - I currently have 2 or 3 RFS posters on my list, and I see they account for 14 of the 30 threads on the first page of this board. That's nearly half. I guess board-spamming comes with the territory, but I do hope your promise didn't extend to granting absolute freedom to do so.

Yes, spamming the board cannot be permitted but Steve's poems are different (topic wise even if their overall theme is narrow) and they are not advertisements. If you personally perceive him as spammer then you could consider putting him on ignore. May be you can use Phe_de's method that completely eliminates the users you don't want to see.

Now I dont have to wade through anymore asinine "poetry"

I am with tickingmask. The occasional spamming is okay but when Steve gets on a tear it really does get tedious.
Every once in awhile I am entertained by his poetry so it is not asinine to me. It is just sometimes it seems like he is trying to hard to be what I do not know.
