The witch never denied it. Until shown otherwise, the most likely explanation for Drogo state was due to the Witch's spell. Still better than being a slave. One could argue that everyone is bit brainwashed by their upbringing and the place of their birth. The "witch" was kept ambiguous on purpose. She was also made to speak of the gods, display a fatalistic mindset and say she no longer cared for her life. So that possibility made as much sense as the other. The important point, however, was that Daenerys never tried to find out. She went along with her intent and killed her without knowing. It didn't matter to her. She didn't have the means to find out and the witch never denied it and in fact implied she was responsible for Drogo's state. You forget that if Dany didn't free the Unsullied, they would still be slaves and soldiers in pointless murderous wars if that's what their owner decided. At least with Dany they had a choice. Under Dany: soldiers, allowed to keep property, marry, and free to leave. Without Dany: soldiers and slaves. Nothing else.

Game of Thrones is a fantasy world. This is the real world. You and Leo supposedly live in the real world, but keep living in a fantasy where somehow Cersei is the good guy and Dany is the bad guy. It is simply not true. I have explained to you many times on why it is not and none of my points can even be refuted, so you do not bother. If Dany were even half the Mad Queen you guys think she is, then the show would already be over because she would have won easily. Many times she has had a chance to 'burn them all' and chose the higher ground because she really is interested in being a good ruler. I am not even a Dany fan. I prefer Cersei. Tell me Cersei would not have. Then, even after losing her allies, she is against laying siege to Kings Landing. She decides to attack their loot train instead and is successful. Then, in the middle of a war, she decides to leave it behind and help the North defend against the Night King. This was also something Cersei could have done, but once again her word means nothing and she does not care about anything but power so she stayed out of it and waited to sneak attack when they were weakened. Even then, Dany showed restraint and listened to her advisors. Now her best friend and closest advisor gets beheaded in front of her and another dragon is dead so she is mad and finally ready to end this. Because of this, she is now the 'Mad Queen'. Hilarious.
