Dayaaaaaaaaaamn. If I was a hardcore Star Wars follower I'd share this with the 501st Legion, The Dark Empire, Jedi Assembly, Mandalorian Mercs and Rebel Legion fan groups. But I'm not, ha. Awesome video, though. I'm gonna have to show somebody on Facebook at least.

Probably how it should have happened. But Lucas was limited by the technology of the time. He was also limited by the physical limitations of the older actors he had playing those roles; even though they excelled at embodying the characters in general performances. You have to remember, ANH was made before the fitness craze of the late '80s and early '90s. It would have been unrealistic for Lucas to put actors of that age through physical fitness regimens for that scene. Not unless he was going to cast Jack LaLanne as ObiWan Kenobi. But that would have ruined the character through the rest of the movie. Awesome video though. Some of the best SW fanfic I've ever seen!

This is garbage. If the millenials cannot accept and appreciate the original fight then there is no hope for them.
There is just something more poetic and artsy about the original fight. It was all about quality. This is nothing but quantity which is why it is so lame and stupid.
Does everything have to be so fucking fast all the fucking time?

This is cool as a Youtube video, but would be shit in the context of the movie. They go too far with it.

But that would have ruined the character through the rest of the movie. George Lucas also originally envisioned the Jedi/Sith fighting in a slower, more ancient Japanese Samurai way of fighting an opponent (the shape of Vader's helmet was also fashioned after the Samurai's helmets). As a result, lightsabers at the time of Episode 4 were meant to be heavier, requiring two hands to swing them around. By the time Return of the Jedi came about, the lightsabers were changed to be lighter, allowing for a more fluid and acrobatic fighting style.
