Big fan of the film and massive Matt Berry fan.. love the show. Please tell me the above is a joke...otherwise a huge surprise has been massively spoilered (we don't all share the US transmission date...I was intending to watch this tonight).

Actors playing roles is a spoiler? How far the world has come from the old Starlog magazines that used to post upcoming roles actors known for sci-fi are appearing in so we could keep an eye peeled for the performances. The show repeats here 2 or 3 times so I was trying ro let people know to check it out. You can let me know, though. I recognized the 2 guys who stayed on Waititi's right hand side, but couldn't place them & our stupid cable channels shrink credits so I couldnt read all the names. I more recognized Bautista's delivery of the last of his lines. Didn't see his name before the credits shrank. I recognised the council member who showed up on the doorstep from The Daily Show when Jon Stewart hosted. Kristen Schaal. Recognized her voice first

Those famous on screen vampire cameos....was it a surprise? Funny? Well not for me it won't be, at least not as much as it could have been As far as I can see that casting wasn't announced anywhere beforehand, or at least not that I can or would have found. Fair enough, spread the word, but a spoiler warning would have been nice.

Fair enough, spread the word, but a spoiler warning would have been nice. They are cameos. Like all cameos they are fan service. Fans of the genre will recognize them, but that they specifically play the roles doesnt add or diminish the story. Like having the actor who played Flash in the 80s play Barry's dad in the current series. Something the fans will go gaga over but no one else will give a damn about. Like that batwing on the moon image from the 89 Batman. The audience went crazy. My husband who didnt know why everyone was going crazy over a mock batsignal didnt get it, but it didnt ruin the movie. Knowing the vampire council has a bunch of name brand actors isn't really important outside of "cool". It could have been a bunch of random actors. Snipes & Reubens are the only ones who have played vampires I believe. Its like when Sam Neill cameoed in Ragnarok. Cool moment, but anyone could have played the role. Like all the people playing characters on Game Of Thrones. Most are so made up, we wouldn't know if we weren't aware. Like Daniel Craig in Force Awakens. If you didn't know that he was the storm trooper Rey Jedi Mind tricked, it doesnt change a thing, but it is something the nerdy geek audience adores

And the names are up on IMDb now. Bautista is listed so I was right. Waititi was Viago. I more recognized his face as he didnt have the exaggerated dialect of Korg. Evan Rachel Wood is another I vaguely recognised.
Baron Afanas was Doug Jones who is more attached to Del Toro for roles like the fishman in The Shape of Water and Abe Sapien in Hellboy

Waititi was Viago. I more recognized his face as he didnt have the exaggerated dialect of Korg. Waititi was with Jonathan Brugh as Deacon and Jemaine Clement as Vladislav - the three of them were the main vampires in the film. Clement co-wrote/directed the film with Waititi. Kristen Schaal first gained any real recognition in Clement's TV series Flight Of The Conchords

Wasn't this a movie? They made this into a series too? Yeah, with a different cast (the three main vampires are played by Brits including the brilliant Matt Berry), and this time set in the US instead of New Zealand. And a bloody good job they have done with it as well.

I liked the movie a lot. Never knew there was a show. Its only up to ep 7 so you can probably do catch-up. Its the FX channels here so that's a good place to start.

Wasn't this a movie? They made this into a series too? Yes, and the most recent episode has the cast from the movie appear.

I want Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kate Beckinsale, and Kristy Swanson to guest star - The latter will likely never happen though given Swanson is a conservative.

It's a great show, but for me, as much as I like Matt Berry, it is all about Nadja and Colin Robinson. Those two performances are just fantastic all around.

What, no Kristen Stewart or Robert Pattinson? Funnily enough Robert Pattinson was mentioned in the most recent episode, they address him as 'Rob' but you can tell that's who they were referring to.
