There are thousands to choose from in my decades of viewing, but this has always been a particular favorite of mine:
"Somewhere" from West Side Story (1961)

Here is a Les Miz "Stars" cage match pitting Florida-born Norm Lewis (25th anniversary concert, 2010), Australian singer Philip Quast (10th anniversary concert, 1995), and Russell Crowe (2012 movie) against one another. You decide.

A sort of anthem to the whole entertainment industry, and an old favorite of mine. "There's No Business Like Show Business" from Annie Get Your Gun 1950.
Picture quality isn't the best:

A Star Is Born (1954) The Man That Got Away (Harold Arlen/Ira Gershwin)
Everyone's heard it, a jazzy yet melancholy ballad of lost love, and seen it: sung by Judy Garland as band vocalist Esther Blodgett, after hours at a Sunset Strip club, displaying the sheer joy of performance, singing, as James Mason's Norman Maine puts it in the film, for herself and for the boys in the band...mainly for herself.
The number went through several changes of costume, scenic and lighting design and blocking/cinematography. So here it is again in a way that perhaps many have not seen it, assembled by YouTube user Lost Vocals into a comparative study of the various approaches and executions, and it's an interesting document of the creative process and its evolution, hinting also at the many ways in which the films we know so well might have been different ones but for untold experimentations, deliberations and decisions.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of musicals. But there are a few I like. Ever since childhood, this one held my memory. Louis Jourdan is just so cool.
"She is not thinking of me" from Gigi (1958)
(song begins at 2:30)

I still have ‘Do You Hear the People Sing?’ from Les Misérables (2012) playing in my head on a semi-regular basis. I really like that one and have listened to it repeatedly since I recently rewatched the movie.

Please pick only one or two per post to save space for others.
This my favourite scene/song from The Sound of Music (1965).

"Love Is A Many-Splenderd Thing" I love this song, kijii, but I don't think it's from a musical. Or is there a musical version I'm unaware of? That sounds like a good idea, now that I think about it.

In my later years of disco there was a disco beating song about a certain Officer whats-is-name. Turned out to be from West Side Story.
It's stuck with me over the years and been a favourite for a long time, movie version:

I'm here to do my makeup for songs from MUSICALS: I like Carol Reed's Oliver! (1968) for a couple reasons: 1) I like Nancy's hopeful song about Bill Sikes, "As Long as He Needs Me" since she sings it with so much feeling and determination: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkXQqYa0wrw2) I like "Who Will Buy." It seems like one of those production songs that just slowly builds and builds and lasts for the longest time. It starts from one street vendor and ends up as something like a street circus. www.dailymotion.com/video/x2ftpjw

It's almost like tonal whiplash.
