Didn't the comics establish that the MCU is actually Earth-199999? Normally, this wouldn’t matter to me, given that the comics and movies are obviously not the same thing, but if the Marvel already established that the MCU and the comics are part of the same multiverse, this would be an inconsistent with that. Sure, there’s the possibility that Mysterio is lying, but referring to the MCU specifically as Earth-616 seems like it’d be a weird thing to lie about.
For anyone who doesn’t know what I’m talking about.

This is a BIG error, indeed.

So MCU is copying the Arrowverse with the multiverse and the Earth designations?

So MCU is copying the Arrowverse with the multiverse and the Earth designations? Both Marvel and DC have been doing that kind of stuff for ages.

referring to the MCU specifically as Earth-616 seems like it’d be a weird thing to lie about. It should be Earth-619. 619 is Rey Mysterio's signature move. 616 is what the mainline Marvel comics universe is referred to.

The MCU can't be and isn't happening on Earth 616. That said, even the current-day comic books are suspect in whether or not they are taking place in the prime 616 Marvel Universe anymore. I believe that only a Watcher can officially designate a universe.
The real reason this was done is that 616 sounds better than 199999 and is a more recognizable "brand."
