Joyce Vera Green was murdered on 25 August 1958. She answered a knock on the front door of her cottage in Old Mill Lane in the picturesque village of Denham in England (not far from the famous film studios). She was then attacked and murdered (her killer later sexually abused her corpse). Her young son saw the murderer who locked him in an upstairs cupboard. There is surprisingly little information online about this case. It was never solved and the Police case files are sealed for some years to come. There is a curious reference to attempts to access public records related to the murder specifically concerning a man called William Clinch. The attempts were unsuccessful and it's not clear who he (Clinch) was; witness, investigator or suspect.... Apparently a true crime book - I'm told - does suggest that Police at the time felt local people knew more than they were letting on..... Anyone know anymore about the Joyce Vera Green murder? Is it usual for case files to still be sealed fifty years after a homicide of this type? I'm not familiar with British law concerning this, but it seems excessive and somewhat peculiar. Maybe something/someone authorities could be covering for?
