Why did Darrell Waltrip wait until the end of the 2000 season to retire when he was way pass his prime? Why didn't Dodge return to sport much sooner than they had? Why didn't the drivers update their sponsors and paint schemes and update the cars to make the racing better and more competitive a little sooner than they did? And more importantly, why did NASCAR wait until Dale Earhnardt got killed in the 2001 Daytona 500 to ensure driver safety on the tracks?
