Hence Aquaman getting a Trench spin-off aside from an official sequel and other reports about The Batman leading to a Gotham shared universe with Batgirl or Dick Grayson. There's even rumors of Superman branching off into a Supergirl and Superboy appearance. That still sounds like a cinematic universe imo.

MCU is always copying DC. DC announced BvS, then MCU announced Iron Man vs Cap. DC announced Wonder Woman, then MCU announced Captain Marvel.

MCU is always copying DC. DC announced BvS, then MCU announced Iron Man vs Cap. DC announced Wonder Woman, then MCU announced Captain Marvel. Remember The Avengers...A team of male heroes, and one woman - including a billionaire playboy and a descendant of a god - join forces to defeat a baddie from outer space with a horned helmet that has stolen a magical cube, who is an underling to a way more powerful, as yet unseen, bad guy. Along the way they have to battle one of their own who is briefly evil, but he eventually returns to his normal self. The whole thing culminates with the team fighting and defeating the bad guy and his army of henchmen whilst also trying to protect and save civilians. Oh and the bilionaire has a "butler" with an English accent that guides him through an earpiece. And two of the teams main characters have a big argument. And there is a powerful long haired hero with a distinct weapon. And the female member is sent to recruit a reluctant "hero" who gained his powers as a result of an accident. And one of the team fought in a World War. And the billionaire presents the idea for and location of a future HQ for them at the end of the film. And there is a bit when the bad guy casually stops a projectile fired at him by one of the heroes...and then came Justice League
Remember Captain America First Avenger....A comic book hero created just before the US entry into World War 2, with superhuman abilities, carrying a shield, leads a multi-cultural team of soldiers (who at one point are all in London where they go to a local pub) in an attempt to defeat the Germans during a World War. The main villain and their scientist are developing a super weapon, which at one point they turn against and kill their "superiors". The superhuman falls in love with an Allied agent in the process, but one of the happy couple sacrifices themselves whilst destroying an aeroplane that is carrying said weapon...then came Wonder Woman
Remember Guardians Of The Galaxy... a team of comic book criminals/misfits who reluctantly join forces to save a planet, which featured a popular music heavy soundtrack which featured Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit In The Sky"...then came Suicide SquadRemember Thor...Member of the Royal Family of a Mythical realm who is at odds with his half brother...then came Aquaman
Remember Black Panther...Member of the Royal Family of a technologically advanced, Mythical realm, that is hidden away on Earth, and the battle with a relative to claim their place on the throne, including fighting a duel...then came Aquaman
Yeah...always copying

Speaking of Supergirl, it may begin production as early as 2020.

Hopefully this will lead to a Legion of Super-Heroes movie as well.

The MCU beat them to the punch in nearly every regard. Taking it slow and carefully is wise, but then most of Snyder's cast is bound to be gone. About the only thing they can do to innovate and still have a semblance of a universe (one-shot films like Phoenix Joker are by definition not) is to do real multiverse teamups with prior versions. Like coax Batfleck to come back and partner with Battinson. But I don't see that happening anytime soon. Or have the new Flash pull the same trick as the TV one and show glimpses of the other DC movie worlds (now including Phoenix Joker, Snyder, Nolan, Burton, etc.) while traveling through dimensions.

If you're gonna say Supergirl for 2 of them... Just making the movie isn't good enough. The key is making them good. And what do you count as "big budget?" There was a Captain America movie in 1944 before Atom Man vs Superman. Is it big budget by today's standards? Because Endgame's budget is 356 million.

1. Civil War - A government building is blown up, killing a prominent government official. A villain manipulates two protagonists into fighting each other. 2. Homecoming - The elevator of a national monument is destroyed. Fortunately, the hero arrives just in time to save his love interest from being killed. 3. Endgame - Iron Man says "I'm Iron Man". Those are pretty blatant rip-offs.
