Incredible Hulk
I don't know why so many people hate it. I thought it was fantastic and rewatchable as hell.

Honestly, none of them is "underrated" in the sense that they've all been received positively, whether those reviews have been paid for in advance or whatever. The majority of the MCU films, save the first Iron Man and the first Avengers movie, are dramatically overrated.

Is there any Marvel movie that's underrated--or, more accurately, not overrated? I didn't like the first Avengers very much, but I did like the first Iron Man and Captain America (oh, and the original Spider-Man 1 and 2--but I guess those don't count). Besides that? "Dramatically overrated" is in fact an understatement!

The hilarious part is: I don't hate them, not even a little bit; they're decent-to-good, perfectly enjoyable popcorn flicks. Just not "serious" or legitimate cinema and certainly not the end-all be-all that these jagoffs around here make them out to be out of some weird, overzealous inferiority complex.

The Dark World, Iron Man 2, and Age Of Ultron are always way undervalued. Especially TDW and IM2, which get talked about regularly as though they're bad, and I can't say enough that they aren't even close to bad. To me it's like walking into a playboy photo shoot and finding the ugly girl, and then every time you mention her you always introduce her as the ugly one. Give me the ugly girl at a playboy shoot every time and keep em coming.

Just not "serious" or legitimate cinema and certainly not the end-all be-all that these jagoffs around here make them out to be out of some weird, overzealous inferiority complex. "Controversial" and "blasphemous"? Oh, boy, they're just movies! (I suppose I shouldn't advertise the fact that I don't like 2001: A Space Odyssey--or Airplane!) I don't really hate any of the Marvel pictures either, though I am a bit sick of them just because there are so damn' many of them. (I've also got a private, albeit petty, annoyance at them for inspiring the Disney corporation to rip up California's Tower of Terror ride, one of the best themed spaces ever made, and replace it with a Guardians of the Galaxy ride.) I thought that, of those mentioned, Iron Man and Spider Man 2 are the only pictures with a claim to "greatness"--and, may I add, even that claim is relative, neither of them is "a great movie" (IMO), but they do come the closest. (It is of course possible for a comic book flick to become a "great movie," I must emphasize. The original Superman, with Christopher Reeve, is one such example, and, though it may be more controversial, I think Batman Returns is great as well.) Captain America, Spider Man (1), and Iron Man 3 are perfectly fine popcorn flicks, I think. (I particularly liked the '40s atmosphere of the first, the realistic emotions in the second, and the clever twist in the third.) But, as you say, little more than that.

And I hate to say it because that movie actually really sold me on the character. (Also Ant Man was my favorite part of Civil War.) The action sequences in AM are a ton of fun and I think Rudd is perfect in the role. But outside the action scenes it's very visually bland with some really ugly orange/teal lighting and a lot of awkward stilted dialogue that really makes it feel generic (more like your typical Hollywood comedy rather than a big budget superhero movie). I really hope they step their game up for the sequel because, again, I really do like the character quite a bit.

I always hope they up their game, even if it's already great, so I'll agree with you there, but not because there was anything wrong with the first film. It was a ton of fun and well shot/acted/and written.

I don't know about 'underrated,' but I enjoy Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Age of Ultron more than most. Thing is, I totally understand the criticism for AoU. There were too many jokes, and the middle of the film became muddled with all the Infinity Stones set-up. But as a whole there was so much to love in that film. To me, the good far outweighed the bad.
As for IM3, I don't understand the criticism at all. I thought the Mandarin twist was brilliant. The people complaining about turning him into a joke are the same ones who complained he was a TDK Joker knockoff when the trailer was released. It was actually pretty clever, and I dug Killian as well. One of the better MCU villains if you ask me. Certainly the best IM villain so far.

I really enjoy that sequence, especially the bit with the train. Very fun and clever stuff.🐜

I think Age of Ultron is a near masterpiece and gets far more hate than it deserves.

I don't know about underrated, but I think Ironman 2 gets more hate than it should It had a tough job. Continuing Tony's story but still setting up the larger universe. It did it fairly well.
