That seems like a pretty big question mark at this point. Some people believe that they may have already exhausted their big guns, while others seem to believe that there is still a chance. Thoughts?

BvS made just over $870 million. JL needs to beat that to keep the DCEU afloat. Anything short of $1 billion would be a failure to me.
A movie with Wonder Woman, Flash, Batman, (presumably) Superman, Cyborg, Commissioner Gordon, and more should make $1 billion easy.

It has to. But that will depend on critical reviews and word of mouth.

Yeah for sure good chances to outgross BvS.
As long as WW and JL make close to 2billion. Joint amount of say 1.5-1.6b I don't really care if JL doesn't make a billion.

I think there's a pretty decent chance it'll outgross BvS.

BvS is generally considered to be a very boring movie. So it might make less.

BvS is generally considered to be a very boring movie. So it might make less. They're clearly making the effort to ramp up the "fun" factor with JL, so that could possibly help. SS actually got worse reviews than BvS, but that film still managed to surpass most expectations at the box office due to being more "fun".
