www.holidayscalendar.com/event/trinity-sunday/Celebrated on the first Sunday after Pentecost, Trinity Sunday is a Feast Day celebrated by Christians all over the U.S and the world. The purpose of this holiday is to celebrate the symbolic nature of the Trinity – which is God, the father; Jesus, the son; and the Holy Spirit. All of which are all separate entities upon themselves but are also one and the same entity. This is also known as the Christian Godhead as God incarnate in one person. When is Trinity Sunday? However, it had been celebrated as a tradition for hundreds of years before 828 CE, as evidenced by the adoption of the Trinitarian baptismal formula in early liturgies. However, most of these celebrations of this holiday were done on the local level by churches and dioceses and it wasn’t celebrated with a widely adopted feast. That changed in 1334 when Pope John XXII established it as a feast day to be universally observed by all Christians in the Western Church. It blows my mind how some Christian denominations don't believe in the Trinity when it's rather clearly referred to in the New Testament.

Yeah, but some twist things so much they might as well not even claim to be Christian anymore. someone who errors on that(denying that God = Father/Son(Jesus Christ)/Holy Spirit), will have errors on plenty of other major issues to.
that's why I always say to stick to the true Church of Jesus Christ (i.e. the Catholic church) as your not going to have errors in there on serious issues on faith/morals like you will with other denominations as Jesus Christ started the Catholic church (see Matthew 16 : 18. but basically Jesus Christ started it with Peter, the first pope and it went down through the generations til today) as it's the one He guides where as other denominations are started by man. but this basically plays inline with people not liking the truth, so they start their own church, and after a while things are twisted so much it barely resembles the true faith.
or another thing... say you get a whole bunch of people reading the bible, some will interpret things differently and they all can't be right on serious moral issues etc. you need one central authority that cannot error which is where the Magisterium in the Catholic church comes into play. this brief article gets the gist of it across... www.ewtn.com/faith/teachings/chura4.htm

I have to wonder about Al Capone. He was a dedicated Catholic. He was at mass every Sunday. And yet he had seven men from his rival Bugs Moran's gang lined up against a wall and shot without mercy on St. Valentines Day. Three of his own men were plotting against him, and he beat them to death with a baseball bat. That's ten we know about. There may have been more. Is this man going to Heaven because of his deeds, or because he was in the right club? I've thought about starting my own church, but there's plenty of them already. We don't need more churches. We need an awakening of the spirit.

The Herald Erjen Like Fr. Jack said above... you can't be in the Mafia and follow God as they claim to follow God by going threw-the-motions with weekly Mass etc (for the record... they are drawing even more punishment down upon themselves by receiving Jesus Christ in the Eucharist if one is in a state of moral sin and if your murdering people and super violent, it seems pretty safe to say your in a state of mortal sin. if they truly repented, went to confession, then they could receive Jesus Christ worthily in the Eucharist) but fail to repent of murdering people which is a major violation of God's law. basically they are following the ways of satan. also, just because someone is in the 'right club' (i.e. Catholic) as you put it, does not guarantee they will go to Heaven. hell, it's possible they could be punished even more in hell because they were raised in the true faith (so they might have known right and wrong a bit better than others etc) but yet continued their evil ways and rejected God. so while being Catholic raises ones chances of getting to Heaven, it does not guarantee it, as since we all have free will we can choose to reject God through serious sin as, in short, venial sin (mild sin) only wounds ones relationship with God, where as mortal sin (serious sin) destroys it. p.s. or another thing I have read... like say you got two people and they commit the exact same sins, it's possible one could be punished much more than the other because they might have learned more to know right and wrong better etc. See the additional info above (in my previous post) in the section where I said, "or another thing..."

In this exchange between Catholics and other 'faithful' to Christianity, it nicely illustrates the level of discord and irreconcilable lapse of logic and faith between those who profess 'faith' and those who use it to their own ends.

Come on, Goz. Admit you love the discord among Christians. It's like when you and Brandon went around on the legality of firearms ownership. I loved that, and I admit it.

He also used to get furious with clusium and really go to town on the insults... 'go kill yourself' etc. RIP he was actually quite a bright if irascible fellow!
