because that was the only scenario he could make happen that he considered winning.
He couldn't tell Thor to chop of Thanos' head before the snap. If he could have, he would have. But that scenario wasn't an option, so it didn't exist, so Strange couldn't have made it happen.
So you're saying that Strange could make the random mouse be at the right place 5 years in the future and make the random mouse step on just the right buttons on the machine 5 years in the future? And you're saying that Strange could make past Thanos use Nebula to figure out the Avengers' plan to travel to the past to retrieve the stones? And you're saying that Strange could make past Thanos travel to 2023 with his entire army rather than simply traveling to 2018 and killing Tony Stark in 2018? Like I said, the writing in Endgame is really lazy and contrived and awful. No I didn't say any of that. All Strange had to do was make sure he and Tony survived the fight on Titan. Your lame trolling is what's contrived and awful.

Then he would see that Thor chopping off Thanos' head is a winning scenario. So why did he lie about there being only 1 winning scenario when Thor chopping off Thanos' head is clearly a winning scenario. More importantly, why did he claim Iron Man taking the stones away from Thanos is the only winning scenario when it's actually a losing scenario because past Thanos can see everything that happens in 2023 since past Nebula has all of 2023 Nebula's memories so past Thanos can travel to 2018 and kill Tony Stark in 2018? Like I said, the writing in Endgame is really lazy and contrived and awful.

So my question is why did Strange choose such a convoluted scenario that depended on many random and independent variables instead of the simple solution of Thor simply chopping off Thanos' head? because that was the only scenario he could make happen that he considered winning.
He couldn't tell Thor to chop of Thanos' head before the snap. If he could have, he would have. But that scenario wasn't an option, so it didn't exist, so Strange couldn't have made it happen.
Plus How exactly was Dr. Strange supposed to tell Thor to do that while he is on Titan and Thor was somewhere else in space (where he forged Stormbreaker/Wakanda) Part of the plan is Dr. Strange can't tell them what to specifically to do and even if he could tell them Dr. Strange had no way to even know where Thor was to tell him either..

Thor cutting of Thanos' head is not a winning because that scenario didn't exist in any of the 14,000,605. It wasn't default for Thor to do it. Strange couldn't tell Thor to do it. So that was NOT a scenario. It wasn't possible.
When 2023 Nebula went back to get the Power Stone, had she already seen Tony defeat Thanos with a snap? NO!
So how was past Thanos supposed to know how Tony ended up defeating him? You're an idiot. Just stop, please, for your own sake.

MCU fans on this forum have proven from their ignorant posts recently that they clearly still don't understand time travel. They kept begging me to explain it to them. I was going to explain it to them on the thread on the MCU board, but the thread has been locked. What's up with the increased censorship all of sudden? Why are MCU fans against people expressing differing and dissenting opinions of MCU movies?

Why are MCU fans against people expressing differing and dissenting opinions of MCU movies? Who does understand time travel? How it is used in the particular film has been explained numerous times but you just ignore the responses or don't understand them Are you fucking serious? You ignore, don't understand or cherry pick replies and opposing views, and just copy and paste the same replies over and over. No one begs you for answers, they point out you have no answers. Most people just want you to fuck off. You are entitled to do that, and you would be allowed to do it if you didn't/haven't duplicated threads with quintessentially the same question, and once started acting like a dick in them If evidence is need what a self important twat you are is needed the post I am replying to is a good example. Why bother bumping this with a pointless complaint. Can U Not Troll

Another cherry picked reply I see Anyone who can be arsed (and really why should they) to read the numerous threads on the subject that you have started would likely conclude otherwise. You really are an odd little fantasist

And you clearly don't understand the rules of time travel in Endgame. They explicitly say that IT DOES NOT follow the rules of Back to the Future. Why is that so hard for you to comprehend?

This isn't about BTTF. This is about the fundamental basics of time travel, There is no such thing as the fundamental basics of time travel because it isn't real. The rules are whatever the writer of a story wants it to be. Back to the Future used paradoxical dynamic timeline rules. Endgame used multiverse rules which is more complex but not paradoxical. This was explained by Banner and The Ancient One which you would know if you saw the movie. They also explicitly said Back to the Future's rules are bullshit - twice.
MCU fans have demonstrated from their recent posts that they clearly do not understand. Uh huh...you're the one claiming past Thanos should have known about Tony's snap due to 2023 Nebula's time travel even though she went back before Tony's snap and you can't explain that because it's nonsense.
