Would the MCU X-men live-series work if they adapted the storyline of the old X-men animated series and simply converted it to live action, modifying script/dialogue/acting to match more modern times plus fit the longer runtime per episode?
I mean, theoretically that's what they're doing with these live-version Disney movies. They're taking the basic plot/storyline of their animated movies, updating the dialogue and scenes to fit a live-action version better, then maybe just add a few scenes here and there.
Yes and no, no if they just try to remake them in live action, yes if they adapt them and use a little more sense, like Jean passing out every episode she does anything in will not work as live action today, it doesn't work in animation today if you rewatch the show, but if you add a little to them and use the old show as a foundation to build on I think it could probably work.
But you have to let Wolverine cut some fools, none of this only on the robots bullshit, also give Scott a little more personality as he was a bland mother fucker in the show.
Could even not bother updating things too much and just make it a period piece set in the 90's.

Never say never, but for me, the X-Men universe is so colorful and visually arresting that I'm not sure any format beyond animated will do it justice. The X-Men movies are hit and miss for miss, but if they've taught me anything, it's that the X-Men don't lend themselves as well to live action as they do animation. Even the X-Men movies I like show me that.
Part of why the animated show from the 90's burrowed in my brain is because the colors lent themselves to the fantasy. It's not just the characters, it's everything; even the skies. Especially their powers, the colorful ones. The X-Men animated series never needed to compromise its color scheme to go dark.
We'll see though. If they crank a live action X-Men show out, I'll look. I just hope it's not on the Disney streaming channel only, because I am not up for acquiring that.

To be fair, the X-men movies not lending themselves to live action might just be the fault of Fox. I mean, Thor, Aquaman and Thanos are characters that I would have sworn were harder to translate to live action than the X-men but look at how those characters turned out.
What is with people being obsessed with Saturday morning cartoons? Yeah it was a good cartoon. No, I don’t want to see world famous thespians reciting lines from a cartoon.
It’s even worse on the DC board, stop bitching about JLU. It’s a freaking cartoon for children.

Well the dialogue definitely won't work. That's why I was saying they simply follow the plot and storyline while updating dialogue/acting/interactions to fit a live-action series.
I originally thought this would be too expensive to pull through. But GOT managed it and Disney (I think) is richer than HBO.
GOT was not always the most expensive show on TV. Season one even CUT battle scenes because they couldn't afford it. A major studio is only going to pump that level of money into a show after it becomes a hit.
