Well, the Bruce Springsteen new release Western Stars has inspired me to make this thread. It's just a thread of songs with Left Coast, the West, themes.

I heard Ms Lang perform this on Carson in the late 80s and I bought the album Shadowlands the next day. Springsteen's song with the same title is probably homage to this, which was written by Chris Isaak.

Thanks Dr. Blade. Sounding fantastic. Hiya Doc...grand to see you still frequenting the boards. This 'live' Straits cut stiil knocks me out. Occasionally sprawling but very mostly majestic...i can hear it every week. Also quite a bit nostalgic as this was one of the albums me and crew would always play when driving to a Grand Prix through the night. Saw the Straits once and was very disappointed....they seemed to be just turning up for the day job...but heigh ho....I suppose folk cannot be rock gods every day.
