I'm sure emo is the first thing that comes to your heads, but I feel the content of those songs tend to be about failed romances and suicidal thoughts.

Nu-metal is more angsty. There are a lot of nu-metal bands such as Linkin Park and Korn where practically every song is an angst anthem for sullen 14 year-olds.
