He’s so good as an actor. I wonder if they’ll stick him in motion capture for the role? I kind of hope not, unless it’s a role that truly needs it.

He'd be great as Penguin. If anything, his part as Ulysses Klaw was a nice warmup.

Who says it need be either or, they could give him a live action role and performance capture role, it's what James Gunn's brother does in Guardians, Cumberbatch I think did the same thing in Dr Strange, he palyed Strange and Dormammu iirc.

I still don't understand this board cheerleading him, a slim build actor of average height, as The Penguin.
Not to typecast, but he obviously loves motion capture work. Let's see him as Clayface or something.
And even if you want to give the CG characters a break, why a short, fat mobster? Just cast a short fat guy.
Serkis could be a good Riddler. Bring some Gorshin flavor while still being intimidating.
