A movie that virtually no one talks about anymore.

Every time I think of Superman Returns I think. "When did you rape me, Superman?" - Lois.

I remember it being not too bad. Sure itโs very problematic but at least it feels like a Superman movie.

It was a decent movie it just wasn't action packed enough in a time when you had other big superhero movies like Spider-Man and X-Men.
It had so little action that the final boss in the video game was a tornado. Which is a bit infamous now.

It wonโt be forgotten so long as Singer and Spaceyโs popularity remains high ๐

A film twenty years too late coasting on nostalgia. With two miscast leads, one legitimately good action scene, and the best available actor at the time for Lex Luthor. 5/10.

For its faults, which involves some miscasting and pacing and story, I do love this film because it has some glorious moments, which is much more than I can say for Man of Steel, which has exactly none.

If you replace Spacey and Bosworth, change the villain plot, and add another action scene as good as Superman saving the plane then you've got yourself a pretty decent superhero flick.

If you replace Spacey and Bosworth, change the villain plot, and add another action scene as good as Superman saving the plane then you've got yourself a pretty decent superhero flick. So you mean pretty much make a whole other movie. Which, yes, that's what I would do.
Superman does nothing but fly and cry in this one. The whole thing is a downer. And was I supposed to care about that little kid in any way shape or form?
You know who was my favorite character in that movie? The guy that James Marsden played, because at least he was heroic without having powers. How good is a movie about Superman when the new character that has nothing to do with anything is the best?
It's not the worst movie, but everything about it is very... "meh".

I'd say one of the most questionable decisions was to have Kate Bosworth be Lois Lane instead of Parker Posey, I mean COME ON she was born for that role(and would've been more age appropriate) but its kind of understandable why they went with Bosworth as she was a more bankable name.

It only looks better after Man of Steel, and this is a movie involving two men who allegedly have a thing for underaged boys. That's how bad Man of Steel is.
