Prolific horror filmmaker Andrew N. Shearer's background is in music, journalism and improvisational comedy. He was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia where he played in several local punk groups. He founded the fanzine 'Gonzoriffic' in the 1990s which led to the establishment of Gonzoriffic Films, a D.I.Y. arts collective specialising in microcinema. He's currently stationed in Athens, Georgia and still keeping busy.
Shearer's a contributing musician to some of horror director Henrique Couto's pop records and he also plays in the musical troupe Female Trouble with actress Monica Puller. He claims to have won 'Employee Of The Month' six times during his days spent working for the Blockbuster video rental chain but these claims haven't been verified. His Twitter pals include horror director Kevin Smith and burlesque performer Dee Flowered.

I've seen very little of Andrew Shearer's horror output even though he participated in one of my favourite 21st century anthology projects, 'Faces Of Schlock' (2009). I know he sometimes shoots in black and white and that he's embraced sapphic desire through a number of original projects. I'll have to see what's available.
