Not exactly stretching themselves, but nice to have them back Album Days of the Bagnold Summer will be released in September. A soundtrack, featuring reworkings of classics "Get Me Away From Here I'm Dying" and "I Know Where the Summer Goes" alongside 11 new tracks. Looking forward to it, Storytelling (another soundtrack) is their most unfairly maligned album.

Such haunting and fragile feeling.

Haunting yes, but also wistful, summery, melancholy and nostalgic.

Cause the word out on the street is you are starving Don't let yourself grow hungry now Don't let yourself grow cold
Fox in the snow ...'
I'd venture to say a song of unparalleled beauty.

It's an ok track. sort of fits in with last year's ep album 'How to solve our human problems' ...Will need to hear it within the context of the album itself

Haven't listened to anything from them since 'The Life Pursuit'. This is a pretty good track...I'll have to check out the new record!

Enjoying the album so far (3 listens in). Mellow, understated and at the very least better than Dear Catastrophe Waitress and The Life Pursuit.

Incidentally, if, like me, you hadn't heard of the eponymous comic book until this album appeared, I highly recommend it. The film has a rather unappealing cast, for my taste, but I'll probably give it a go one of these days. I'd not, thanks. Feel similar about the film, didn't really appeal, but I might get to it.

Fox in the snow, do you like The Delgados? When I was in Glasgow as a student, The Great Eastern and If You're Feeling Sinister were the two albums by local bands that I picked up. Loved them both.

I've heard the name, but have not given them a listen. I'm a big fan of Scottish pop so I guess I should. Yes, Sinister is one of B&S's best.

The album The Great Eastern is their best. Emma Pollock's voice is so damn memorable. Here is a sample.
