Alright, so, this is another timeline question, but it’s something that sort of confuses me. So, Homecoming took place in Fall of 2016. In that film, it is established that Peter is 15 years old. Fast forward to IW, which has been confirmed to take place in 2018. While it’s not clear at what point in the year the film takes place in, the fact that it takes place in 2018 would mean that Peter and his friends are at least a year older. 16 at the very least. Okay.
So, fast forward to Far From Home, which takes place eight months after everyone who was snapped out of existence came back to life. Ok, cool. The one thing that confuses me is the fact that in the film, it’s stated that Peter and his friends (who were all snapped from existence for five years) are all still 16 years old apparently. That just seems a little odd to me. Shouldn’t at least some of them be 17 by this point?
Also, before DC-Fan inevitably comments on this thread, no, I’m not saying that this is a plot hole, so don’t get your hopes too high up. I’m simply curious about a very minor detail in the film.

I thought five years had passed so it’s 2023 and Peter is 22. Also I’m pretty sure that Ned is slow and was held down a grade. That’s not the real MJ so that covers Zendaya.

I thought five years had passed so it’s 2023. Five years passed between The Blip and people getting brought back to life. FFH takes place eight months after the events of Endgame, which means that everyone who was blipped is now 8 months older than they were before Thanos snapped his fingers the first time. In other words, Peter and his friends still being in high school makes sense. It’s the fact that none of their birthdays took place over the course of eight months that confuses me.

Are they meant to be the same age? I thought Homecoming they were Freshman and FFH they are Sophmores, the idea I recall was each film would take place during different years in highschool similar to Harry Potter, which would put Peter at 15 ish in Homecoming right? so he could be late 16 in FFH, and the school year thing would work, freshman in the fall of 2016 would make you a sophomore in spring/summer of 2018, and if Peter's birthday is in the summer he would only be 1 year older technically by this point.

The part that confuses me is the fact that FFH takes place eight months after everyone was snapped back into existence, yet Peter and his friends are still 16 and not 17, even though they were presumably 16 when the snap first happened. Isn’t Peter’s birthday supposed to be in August or something?

I think they didn't age when they were dust. In Endgame when Peter showed up to the battle, he told Iron Man he was asleep or something and woke up to Doctor Strange saying lets go. So physiologically they're whatever age they were during the snap, but they are technically older.
It's like Cap. He was preserved in the ice and barely aged, even though he's physically over 100. Real 100 year old Captain America looks like 90 year old Chris Evans.
Some of them could be 17, like if they have early calendar birthdays. January, February, etc. That makes sense to me.

It's July 6 as of my typing this, so if Peter's coming up on 17 wouldn't it happen in the same August as ours?
I think the date of their birth marks their age, even with the lost years.

But Mardi Gras is always in the Winter because it marks the beginning of the fasting period before Easter. So it doesn't make sense that there was a Mardi Gras festival during their Summer vacation. Just more lazy writing by MCU writers.
